In 1938, the Philadelphia Mint produced over nine million quarters, continuing a design that has become a cornerstone of American pocket change. This particular specimen survives in an exceptional state of preservation, certified as Mint State 65 (MS-65). At this grade, the coin retains its original mint luster and sharp details, offering a vivid window into the craftsmanship of the late 1930s. Struck in 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse features the familiar left-facing profile of George Washington. Boldly struck inscriptions surround the portrait, including the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the date "1938" positioned at the bottom rim. Because it was struck at the main Philadelphia facility, the coin bears no mint mark, a traditional characteristic of the series.
