0.1788 troy oz .900 1941 Almost Unc

In 1941, the United States Mint in Philadelphia struck this twenty-five cent piece, a classic representation of American circulating coinage from the mid-twentieth century. Struck in 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. This particular specimen survives in About Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original engraving. The obverse of the quarter displays the left-facing portrait of George Washington, the nation's first president, designed by sculptor John Flanagan. Surrounding the profile are the traditional inscriptions of national identity and liberty. On the reverse, Flanagan's powerful heraldic eagle takes center stage. The eagle is depicted with its wings outspread, clutching a bundle of arrows in its talons, which are situated above a pair of crossed olive branches. This design beautifully balances the dual themes of strength and peace, framing the denomination of the coin below.
