Struck during the height of the Second World War, this 1943 silver quarter dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Minted in San Francisco, as indicated by the prominent S mint mark, this twenty five cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition, the coin retains the sharp details and lustrous surface that emerged from the coining presses over eight decades ago. The obverse of the coin presents the classic left facing profile of George Washington, the first president of the United States.
