1946-D Washington Quarter BU

0.1788 troy oz .900 1946 Brilliant Unc

Struck at the Denver Mint shortly after the end of World War II, this 1946 Washington quarter represents a classic era of American silver coinage. Minted in 90% fine silver, the coin contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. Its preservation in Brilliant Uncirculated condition allows the original details of the engraving to shine through just as they did when the coin first left the coining press. The obverse of the coin showcases a dignified, left-facing portrait of George Washington, designed by artist John Flanagan. The profile is accompanied by the traditional national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the 1946 year of issuance. On the reverse, Flanagan's powerful design features a heraldic eagle with outspread wings, perched above a bundle of arrows and a curved olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The denomination is inscribed below as "QUARTER DOLLAR."
