In 1946, the United States Mint produced a twenty-five cent coin that captures the spirit of mid-century America. Struck in Philadelphia, this Washington Quarter is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the coin retains its original luster and sharp details just as it appeared when it first left the minting press. Created by sculptor John Flanagan, the design presents a powerful visual narrative on both sides. The obverse displays the left-facing profile of George Washington, the nation's first president. Accompanying his portrait are the classic inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "1946" positioned below. The reverse side of the coin showcases a striking heraldic eagle. The bird is depicted with outspread wings, gripping a bundle of arrows in its talons above a pair of olive branches, symbolizing both strength and peace. Above the eagle, the traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is clearly visible, while the legends "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "QUARTER DOLLAR" frame the powerful central image.
