0.1788 troy oz .900 1949 MS-66 (NGC)

This 1949 Washington quarter, struck at the Denver Mint, represents a classic era of United States coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. Preserved in an exceptional state of preservation, this piece has been graded Mint State 66 (MS-66), indicating its outstanding luster and minimal surface marks from the minting process. The obverse of the coin displays the familiar left-facing portrait of George Washington, originally designed by John Flanagan. Surrounding the first president's likeness are the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", along with the 1949 year of issue. On the reverse, a majestic eagle is depicted with its wings fully spread. The reverse design incorporates the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM", the national designation, and the twenty-five cent denomination. Positioned below the eagle, the "D" mint mark identifies this specimen as a product of the Denver facility.
