1950 Washington Quarter BU

0.1788 troy oz .900 1950 Brilliant Unc

In 1950, the United States Mint produced a classic piece of silver coinage that continues to captivate those who appreciate mid-century design. This Washington quarter, struck in 90 percent silver, contains 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition, it retains the sharp details and lustrous surface that emerged from the coining presses decades ago. The obverse of the coin features the familiar left-facing profile of George Washington. This portrait, created by designer John Flanagan, is accompanied by the classic national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, positioned to the left of the president's likeness, with the date 1950 anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide, clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The traditional Latin inscription, E PLURIBUS UNUM, is nestled just above the eagle's head. Encircling this central motif are the legends identifying the issuing nation, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the face value, QUARTER DOLLAR.
