1951 Washington Quarter PF-67 NGC

0.1788 troy oz .900 1951 Proof - 67 (NGC)

In 1951, the Philadelphia Mint produced a limited number of proof coins, including this exceptional Washington quarter. Crafted from 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.17875 troy ounces, this piece represents the high-quality craftsmanship of mid-century American coining. The coin has been graded in Proof 67 condition, indicating its superb preservation and sharp details. Designed by John Flanagan, the obverse of the coin displays a left-facing portrait of George Washington. This classic profile is accompanied by the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1951 date at the bottom. Because it was struck at the Philadelphia facility, the coin does not feature a mint mark. The reverse displays a powerful eagle with its wings spread wide. Positioned above the eagle are the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The face value, QUARTER DOLLAR, is inscribed clearly along the lower rim, completing a design that remains a cornerstone of United States coinage.
