Struck in 1952 at the San Francisco Mint, this Washington quarter is a beautiful example of mid-twentieth-century American coinage. Minted in 0.900 fine silver, the coin contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. It is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, allowing the original luster and crisp details of the design to shine through just as they did when the coin first left the press. The obverse of the quarter displays a dignified left-facing portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States. This design, created by John Flanagan, has become one of the most recognizable faces in pocket change, accompanied by the inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the 1952 date. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide. The eagle grips a bundle of arrows in its talons, positioned above a pair of olive branches, representing the dual themes of strength and peace. Above the eagle, the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed, completing a design that has defined the United States twenty-five cent piece for generations.
