1952 Washington Quarter AU
In 1952, the United States Mint struck this Washington quarter in 90 percent silver, containing 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. This particular coin survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its mid twentieth century craftsmanship. The obverse showcases the familiar left facing profile of George Washington, a design created by sculptor John Flanagan. Above the portrait, the word LIBERTY is inscribed, while the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST sits to the left of Washington's neck, with the date 1952 positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, Flanagan's powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with wings spread wide, gripping a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is placed directly above the eagle's head, framed by the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination of QUARTER DOLLAR.
