1953-D Washington Quarter BU
The 1953 Washington quarter from the Denver Mint represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Struck with a purity of 90 percent silver, this piece contains 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the coin retains its original luster and sharp details just as it looked when it left the Colorado facility in the mid-twentieth century. John Flanagan designed the artwork for this circulating quarter. The obverse presents a dignified left-facing profile of George Washington, the first President of the United States. Accompanying this portrait are the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the date "1953". The reverse displays a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. The eagle grips a bundle of arrows in its talons, positioned above an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is integrated into the design, alongside the denomination of "QUARTER DOLLAR" and the Denver "D" mint mark.
