0.1788 troy oz .900 1953 Almost Unc

This twenty-five cent piece from 1953 represents a fascinating moment in mid-century American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of the original detail from the day it was minted. The obverse displays the familiar left-facing portrait of George Washington, a design created by John Flanagan. Accompanying the profile of the first president is the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the 1953 date. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide, gripping a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The traditional Latin phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is positioned above the eagle, while the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the "QUARTER DOLLAR" denomination frame this classic mid-century design.
