In 1953, the Philadelphia Mint produced a limited run of proof coinage, including this exceptional silver quarter. Struck with polished dies to achieve a mirror-like finish, this piece represents the mid-century craftsmanship of the United States Mint. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, the coin carries no mint mark, a traditional feature of the facility's output during this era. This specimen has been certified in an elite Proof 67 (PF-67) condition, indicating its superb preservation and brilliant surfaces. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.1808 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse features the classic portrait of George Washington, accompanied by the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," along with the 1953 date. The reverse displays the national eagle motif surrounded by the legends "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR."
