In 1955, the Denver Mint struck a limited run of just over three million silver quarters. This particular specimen survives in an extraordinary state of preservation, certified at a high Mint State 66 grade. Struck from 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal, offering a tangible connection to the mid twentieth century circulating coinage of the United States. The obverse displays the familiar left facing portrait of George Washington, designed by John Flanagan. Surrounding the profile are the inscriptions of liberty and the national motto, alongside the 1955 date. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle grips a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The Denver mint mark, a small letter D, is positioned just beneath the wreath, marking its origin from the Colorado facility.
