In 1955, the Philadelphia Mint produced a striking version of the classic Washington Quarter, struck specifically for collectors in a brilliant proof finish. This mid-century coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1808 troy ounces of the precious metal. As a proof coin, it represents the pinnacle of the minting process of its era, displaying sharp details and polished surfaces that highlight the artistry of the design.
