0.1788 troy oz .900 1962 PF-68 (NGC)

In 1962, the United States Mint produced a limited run of proof coinage, including this exceptional Washington Quarter. Struck with specially polished dies and planchets, this coin represents the height of mid-century manufacturing quality. It contains 0.1788 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 90 percent. This particular specimen has survived in extraordinary condition, earning a high grade of Proof 68 from a professional grading service. The obverse displays the classic left-facing profile of George Washington, the nation's first president. Surrounding his portrait are the clear inscriptions of LIBERTY and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1962 date at the bottom. On the reverse, a majestic eagle is depicted with its wings fully spread. The design includes the traditional Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM, which translates to "Out of many, one." The surrounding inscriptions identify the issuing nation as the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and declare the denomination as QUARTER DOLLAR.
