In 1963, the United States Mint struck more than three million proof quarters, providing collectors with highly polished examples of a classic American design. Crafted from 90 percent silver, this particular coin contains approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. Having achieved a high grade of Proof 67 (PF-67), this specimen showcases the sharp details and mirror-like surfaces characteristic of the era's finest proof coinage. The obverse displays the familiar left-facing profile of George Washington. Surrounding the first president's portrait are the essential national inscriptions, including the word of freedom at the top, the traditional motto of faith to the left, and the 1963 production date positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, a powerful eagle with its wings fully spread dominates the design. The bird of prey is accompanied by the Latin motto emphasizing national unity, the name of the issuing country, and the twenty-five cent denomination, which is spelled out as a quarter dollar.
