The 1964 Washington quarter represents a significant moment in United States coinage, being the final year that circulating quarters were struck with a high silver content. Minted in Denver, this piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. Kept in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, it retains the crisp details and luster originally produced by the Denver Mint decades ago. On the obverse, the coin displays the left-facing profile of the first United States president, George Washington, a design created by sculptor John Flanagan. The familiar motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned in the left field, with the date of 1964 inscribed below the bust. This portrait has become one of the most recognized images in American currency. The reverse features a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings outspread. The eagle grips a bundle of arrows in its talons, positioned above a pair of olive branches, representing both strength and peace. The denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR" is boldly inscribed along the bottom rim, while the Denver mint mark, a small "D", is located just beneath the olive branches.
