1973-D Clad Eisenhower Dollar BU
The 1973-D Eisenhower dollar stands as a bold representation of late twentieth-century American coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, this particular issue contains no silver, composed instead of a base metal clad alloy. It remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details of its original engraving just as it appeared when leaving the minting facility. On the obverse, the coin displays a detailed left-facing profile of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Positioned above his portrait is the word LIBERTY, while the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST is placed to the left. The Denver mint mark, a small letter D, is located directly above the 1973 date at the bottom. The reverse of the coin features a design adapted from the official Apollo XI insignia, celebrating humanity's journey to the lunar surface. It depicts an eagle in flight above the moon, with the planet Earth visible in the distant background. Surrounding this cosmic scene are thirteen small stars, alongside the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The outer inscriptions declare the issuing nation, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the face value, ONE DOLLAR.
