The 1973-D Washington quarter represents a fascinating chapter in the evolution of United States coinage. While the Washington quarter series originally debuted on August 1, 1932, replacing the Standing Liberty design, the physical composition of these twenty-five cent pieces underwent a massive transformation decades later.
