1973-S Clad Eisenhower Dollar PF-69 NGC

0.0000 troy oz 1973 Proof - 69 (NGC)

The 1973-S Eisenhower Dollar stands as a striking tribute to both a celebrated American leader and one of humanity's greatest achievements. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this particular coin has been graded in exceptional Proof 69 condition, highlighting the sharp contrast and mirror-like finish characteristic of high-tier proof minting. Unlike some of its silver counterparts, this version features a copper-nickel clad composition, representing the modern era of United States circulating coinage. The obverse of the coin presents a strong, left-facing profile of General and President Dwight David Eisenhower. Accompanying his likeness are the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1973 date. The subtle 'S' mint mark is also positioned on this side, denoting its origin in San Francisco. On the reverse, the coin features a dramatic design based on the Apollo XI insignia. An eagle is depicted flying over the surface of the moon, symbolizing the historic lunar landing. This cosmic scene is framed by thirteen small stars, representing the original colonies, and is accompanied by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the face value of ONE DOLLAR.
