1978-D Washington Quarter BU

0.0000 troy oz 1978 Brilliant Unc

In 1978, the Denver Mint produced more than 287 million Washington quarters. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of a design that became a staple of American daily life during the twentieth century. The obverse features the familiar left-facing portrait of George Washington, designed by John Flanagan. Accompanying the profile are the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the 1978 date and the "D" mint mark representing the Denver facility. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide, gripping a bundle of arrows in its talons above two crossed olive branches. Above the eagle, the traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is clearly visible, while the legends "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "QUARTER DOLLAR" frame the central design.
