1982-D Washington Quarter BU

0.0000 troy oz 1982 Brilliant Unc

The 1982 Washington quarter struck at the Denver Mint represents a fascinating era of modern American circulating coinage. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, this specimen showcases the sharp details of a design that defined twentieth-century American pocket change. Crafted from a copper-nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper, the coin has a distinct composition that replaced the traditional silver alloy. The obverse of the coin displays the familiar left-facing profile of George Washington, designed by John Flanagan. Surrounding the portrait are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1982 date and the D mint mark representing the Denver facility. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide, clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch beneath its perch. The traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is positioned above the eagle, while the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUARTER DOLLAR frame the top and bottom of the coin's reverse border.
