In 1985, the Denver Mint produced this twenty-five cent piece, which remains a staple of modern American pocket change. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, meaning it retains its original luster and details just as it looked when first struck, free from the wear of daily circulation. The obverse displays the familiar left-facing profile of George Washington, the nation's first president. This portrait, originally created by John Flanagan, is accompanied by the national motto asserting trust in God, alongside the 1985 date of manufacture. The mint mark "D" is also present on this side, indicating its origin at the Denver facility. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide. The bird grips a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing both strength and peace. Above the eagle, the traditional Latin phrase meaning "out of many, one" is inscribed, while the country's name and the quarter dollar denomination frame the central design. Rather than precious silver, this coin features a modern composition consisting of an outer layer of copper and nickel bonded to an interior core of pure copper.
