1987-D Washington Quarter BU

0.0000 troy oz 1987 Brilliant Unc

The 1987 Washington quarter, struck at the Denver Mint, represents a classic era of modern American pocket change. This copper-nickel clad coin features the iconic profile of George Washington on the obverse, a design first introduced in 1932 to honor the two-hundredth anniversary of the first president's birth. This enduring series has become a staple of American coinage, holding the distinction of being the second longest-running design in United States history, surpassed only by the Lincoln cent. The obverse displays the word LIBERTY above the portrait, with the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST positioned to the left. The reverse features the traditional eagle design, surrounded by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUARTER DOLLAR, alongside the Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving its original mint luster just as it looked when it left the Denver facility in 1987.
