1991-D Washington Quarter BU

0.0000 troy oz 1991 Brilliant Unc

Struck at the Denver Mint in 1991, this quarter dollar represents a classic era of United States circulating coinage. The piece is composed of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper, a combination that has defined modern American pocket change since the mid twentieth century. This specific specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving its original luster and sharp details just as it looked when it first emerged from the coining press. The obverse features the familiar left facing portrait of George Washington, designed by John Flanagan. Alongside the first president's likeness, the traditional national motto of trust is clearly visible. On the reverse, Flanagan's powerful heraldic eagle commands attention, grasping an olive branch of peace in one talon and a bundle of arrows in the other. This traditional symbol of American strength and peace is accompanied by the Latin inscription denoting unity out of many, along with the denomination and country of origin.
