1992-P Washington Quarter BU
The 1992 Washington quarter, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, represents a classic era of modern United States coinage. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the original luster and sharp details of the coin's design just as it appeared when it left the press. Composed of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper, this coin demonstrates the standard metallurgical composition used for circulating United States quarters since the mid twentieth century. On the obverse, the quarter features the familiar left-facing profile of George Washington, the nation's first president. This iconic portrait was created by sculptor John Flanagan. Accompanying the portrait are the traditional national mottoes and inscriptions, including the declaration of trust and the year of manufacture, 1992, alongside the "P" mint mark indicating its origin in Philadelphia. The reverse side displays a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings outspread. In its talons, the eagle grips a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional Latin motto signifying unity out of many is positioned above the eagle, while the country's name and the twenty-five cent denomination frame the central design.
