In 1993, the San Francisco Mint produced a stunning proof edition of the classic Washington Quarter. This series originally debuted on August 1, 1932, replacing the previous Standing Liberty design. While early versions of the coin were struck in silver, a major composition shift occurred following the passage of the Coinage Act of 1965. Since that pivotal moment, these quarters have been minted using a cupronickel clad copper composition, which is beautifully showcased in this 1993 release. The obverse of the coin features the familiar profile of George Washington, the nation's first president. Legible inscriptions on this side include the word LIBERTY, the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and the 1993 year of manufacture.
