This modern United States quarter, struck at the San Francisco Mint in 2019, offers a detailed look at a pivotal moment in World War II. Part of the America the Beautiful series, the coin features a composition of copper and nickel bonded to a pure copper core. It is preserved in exceptional Gem Proof quality, highlighting the precision of its design and the depth of its finish. The reverse side of the coin displays a dramatic scene depicting American forces arriving on the shores of Asan Bay. This powerful illustration serves to honor the liberation of Guam from Japanese forces during the second World War. Designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso, the reverse includes the inscriptions WAR IN THE PACIFIC, GUAM, and the national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM alongside the 2019 year of issue.
