Dating back to the legendary era of 336 to 323 BC, this ancient silver coin from Macedon offers a direct connection to the classical world. The obverse side displays a detailed right-facing profile of Heracles, the mythical hero, draped in his signature lion skin. This powerful imagery served as a prominent symbol during the reign of Alexander III, also known as Alexander the Great. On the reverse, the design transitions to a seated depiction of Zeus. Facing left on his throne, the king of the gods holds an eagle and a sceptre, representing supreme authority. To the right of the deity, the Greek inscription "ALEXANDROY" is clearly visible, flanked on the left by a filleted palm frond. This historic silver piece has survived over two millennia in remarkable condition, certified by professional graders as Choice Almost Uncirculated.
