1841 Liberty Seated Dollar AU
Struck in 1841 at the Philadelphia Mint, this United States silver dollar represents an early era of American coinage. With a purity of 0.900 silver and containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin is a substantial artifact from the pre 1933 era. This particular piece survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine details of its classic engraving. The obverse showcases the Liberty Seated design, where the figure of Liberty is depicted holding a staff, with the word LIBERTY inscribed on her shield and the year 1841 centered below. The reverse features the traditional denomination of ONE DOLLAR surrounded by the legend of the United States of America. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, it does not bear a mint mark, which was the standard practice for the facility at the time.
