1841-O Liberty Seated Dime VG

This 10 cent silver piece, minted in 1841 at the New Orleans branch mint, represents an early era of American coinage. Struck with a silver purity of 0.900, the coin contains approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It survives today in Very Good condition, displaying the honest wear of a coin that circulated during the mid nineteenth century. The obverse features the classic Liberty Seated motif. Liberty is depicted resting on a stone, grasping a shield in one hand and a staff topped with a Phrygian cap in the other. This elegant design was created by Christian Gobrecht, an influential artist who served as the third Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. On the reverse, the words ONE DIME are prominently displayed at the center, positioned directly above the O mint mark of the New Orleans facility. This central inscription is framed by a delicate laurel wreath, with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA wrapping around the outer border.
