Struck in 90 percent silver at the New Orleans Mint, this 1849 half dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. The coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal and displays the distinctive 'O' mint mark on its reverse side, indicating its southern origin. It survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the detailed artistry of its mid-nineteenth-century design. The obverse side features the iconic figure of Liberty seated on a rock.
