0.7734 troy oz .900 1872 NGC

The 1872 Liberty Seated silver dollar represents the twilight of a classic American coin design. Produced in the years following the Civil War, this issue was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, which is indicated by the absence of a mint mark. The entire series ran from 1840 to 1873, making this particular coin one of the final editions of its kind. It contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 90 percent. On the obverse, the figure of Liberty is depicted seated, grasping a pole topped with a Liberty cap in one hand while her other hand rests on a shield. The reverse features an eagle with a shield across its chest, clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Legible inscriptions on the coin include the date 1872 on the obverse, alongside the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the denomination ONE DOL. on the reverse. This specimen has been certified by independent grading experts as Extremely Fine 45 (XF-45).
