The year 1873 brought a distinctive design variation to the United States ten-cent piece. This silver dime, composed of 90 percent silver with a metal content of 0.0715 troy ounces, stands out for the tiny arrows placed on either side of the date at the bottom of the obverse. This particular specimen is preserved in Very Fine condition, showing the clear details of a design that circulated during a dynamic era of American history. On the obverse, the figure of Liberty is depicted sitting down. In her right hand, she supports a shield, while her left hand holds a pole topped with a liberty cap. The date 1873 is flanked by the notable arrows. The reverse of the coin displays a detailed wreath that encircles the face value, which is written as ONE DIME. Surrounding this central wreath is the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, framing the denomination in a classic nineteenth-century style.
