1875 Liberty Seated Quarter Good

0.1788 troy oz .900 1875 Good

The 1875 Liberty Seated quarter represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Minted in Philadelphia, this twenty five cent piece contains 0.900 fine silver, equivalent to 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. Because it was struck at the main Philadelphia facility, the coin does not bear a mint mark, a traditional feature of early American currency. On the obverse, the design showcases Lady Liberty seated and facing to her left. She holds a staff topped with a Phrygian cap, a classic symbol of freedom, while thirteen stars arch around the upper border to represent the original colonies. The year 1875 is clearly anchored at the bottom of the design. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle facing left. In its talons, the eagle grasps an olive branch alongside three arrows, balancing themes of peace and readiness. The denomination is indicated below the eagle, abbreviated as QUAR. DOL. on the actual strike.
