The year 1877 marked a significant era for American coinage, particularly for the silver quarter dollars emerging from the legendary Carson City Mint in Nevada. This specific coin, bearing the famous CC mintmark, represents a fascinating artifact of nineteenth-century commerce, struck during a time when silver was the lifeblood of the Western frontier. With a purity of 90 percent silver and containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal, this piece has survived in Circulated Fine condition, showing the honest wear of past transactions. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the obverse of the coin features the iconic Seated Liberty.
