Struck in 1891, this silver quarter dollar represents the final year of a classic United States coinage era. Composed of 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.1788 troy ounces, the coin is a physical artifact from the late nineteenth century. The obverse features a depiction of Liberty seated upon a rock, looking toward the left. In her hand, she holds a staff topped with a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom.
