1891-S Liberty Seated Dime Good

0.0715 troy oz .900 1891 Good

The 1891 silver dime from the San Francisco Mint represents the final year of a classic era in American coinage. Struck in 90 percent pure silver, this ten-cent piece carries a modest 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It is a tangible survivor of late nineteenth-century commerce, authenticated by its distinct San Francisco mint mark. The obverse features the iconic image of Liberty in a seated position. In her right hand, she supports a shield, while her left hand balances a staff topped with a liberty cap. The year 1891 is inscribed below this central figure. On the reverse, the words ONE DIME are encircled by a detailed wreath, framed by the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
