The 1891-S Liberty Seated Dime represents the final year of a classic era in United States coinage. Struck in 90% silver, this ten-cent piece contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. Minted in San Francisco, this specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the fine details of its nineteenth-century craftsmanship. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the obverse of the coin displays Liberty in a seated position. She holds a staff topped with a liberty cap in one hand while her other hand rests on a shield inscribed with the word LIBERTY. The year 1891 is placed directly beneath her feet, surrounded by the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The reverse side of the coin features a delicate wreath that encircles the denomination, written as ONE DIME.
