The year 1892 marked the debut of a new era for United States silver coinage, and this dime from the San Francisco Mint represents the very beginning of that legacy. Struck in 90 percent silver with a weight of 0.0715 troy ounces, this coin shows the heavy wear of a long life in active circulation. Classified in Almost Good condition, its surfaces tell a story of countless hands and transactions through the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. On the obverse, the profile of Lady Liberty is visible, adorned with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. The outer rim of this side shows significant wear, blending into the fields. The reverse features a prominent wreath that encircles the denomination of ONE DIME, surrounded by the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Consistent with its heavily circulated state, the reverse rim and the finer details of the wreath have worn down over the decades, leaving a soft, smooth silhouette that highlights the coin's genuine passage through time.
