1892-S Barber Dime Good
The 1892 Barber dime represents the inaugural year of a classic American coinage series. Minted in San Francisco, this ten-cent piece is composed of 90% silver, containing approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. Designed by Charles Barber, the coin showcases a distinct late nineteenth-century aesthetic that circulated heavily through daily commerce. On the obverse, Lady Liberty is depicted facing right, adorned with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. While the surrounding inscription reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" alongside the 1892 date, the word "Liberty" on her headband is no longer visible on this worn, Good-grade specimen, though a complete rim remains. The reverse features a prominent wreath enclosing the denomination "ONE DIME," with the "S" mint mark of the San Francisco Mint positioned at the bottom. On this side, the outer rim may appear slightly weak due to honest wear from its time in circulation.
