1892-S Barber Quarter AG

0.1788 troy oz .900 1892 Almost Good

The year 1892 marked the debut of a classic United States coin design by Charles Barber. Minted in San Francisco, this silver quarter dollar represents the inaugural year of a series that circulated heavily through early twentieth-century American commerce. Struck from 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse side presents a profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop a Phrygian cap. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned above her portrait, with the first-year date of 1892 appearing at the bottom. This particular specimen is in Almost Good condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that spent decades in active circulation. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stretches its wings wide, protecting a shield across its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner, while its talons grasp an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, symbolizing both peace and readiness.
