1893 Barber Quarter AG
This 1893 silver quarter represents a classic era of United States coinage, minted with a composition of 90% silver containing 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. Graded in Almost Good condition, this coin shows the honest wear of a piece that circulated heavily during the late nineteenth century. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin features a dignified portrait of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a laurel wreath over a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. Above her head, the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, with the year 1893 positioned at the bottom of the design. The reverse displays a powerful heraldic eagle with outstretched wings. A protective shield is positioned at the eagle's chest, while its beak grips a ribbon banner. In its talons, the eagle grasps both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing the dual concepts of peace and military readiness.
