Struck in the final decade of the nineteenth century, the 1893-S Barber half dollar represents a fascinating era of American coinage. This silver piece, minted at the San Francisco facility, is a notable survivor from a relatively low original production run of only 740,000 coins. It contains 0.3575 troy ounces of silver, with a purity level of 90 percent. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin features a classic profile of Lady Liberty.
