0.0715 troy oz .900 1894 Extra Fine

Struck in 1894 at the historic New Orleans Mint, this silver dime represents a classic era of United States coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.0715 troy ounces, the coin is a tangible survivor from the late nineteenth century. This particular specimen is preserved in Extra Fine details, though it may bear signs of its long journey through time, such as cleaning, minor scratches, or surface wear. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse presents a dignified profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional laurel wreath over a Phrygian cap, with the word LIBERTY clearly visible on her headband. The surrounding inscription reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, framing the date of 1894 at the bottom. On the reverse, a lush agricultural wreath of corn, wheat, maple, and oak leaves encircles the face value of ONE DIME. The small O mint mark beneath the wreath signifies its production in Louisiana, making this issue a fascinating piece of southern minting history for enthusiasts to explore.
