This 1894 silver quarter dollar, minted in San Francisco, represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin has survived in Very Good condition, meaning that while it has seen circulation, key elements of its design and inscriptions remain visible to the curious observer. The obverse side presents the profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a laurel wreath atop a Phrygian cap, with a headband where the word LIBERTY is partially visible. Surrounding her portrait is the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1894 year of issue. A complete rim frames this classic nineteenth-century portrait. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stretches its wings with a protective shield positioned across its chest. The eagle holds a symbolic banner in its beak, while its talons grasp an olive branch and a cluster of arrows.
