Struck in the late nineteenth century, this 1895 half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.3617 ounces of precious metal. It is graded in Fine condition, showing honest wear from its time in circulation while retaining the core details of its historic imagery. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse displays a proud profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a laurel wreath atop her head, nestled over a Phrygian cap, with the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" positioned above her. The year 1895 is stamped clearly at the bottom of the design. The reverse features a powerful heraldic eagle with wings spread wide, protecting a shield on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon bearing the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Its talons grasp an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing both peace and readiness. The inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" arches over the top, while the "HALF DOLLAR" denomination anchors the bottom of this enduring piece of American history.
