1895-S Barber Dime Good
The 1895 Barber dime, struck at the San Francisco Mint, represents a fascinating survivor from the late nineteenth century. Composed of 90% silver with a precious metal weight of 0.0715 troy ounces, this ten-cent piece carries the distinctive artistic hallmarks of its creator, Charles Barber. The coin is presented in Good condition, showing the honest, heavy wear of a coin that circulated widely in daily American commerce. On the obverse, the profile of Lady Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath. While the word Liberty is no longer visible on her headband, the coin retains a complete outer rim. The reverse features a classic agricultural wreath that frames the denomination of ONE DIME. On this side, the outer rim may appear slightly weak in some areas, and the San Francisco S mintmark is situated beneath the wreath, marking its origin at the western mint.
