1897-O Barber Dime Fine

0.0715 troy oz .900 1897 Fine

Struck in the late nineteenth century, this ten-cent piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. Minted in 1897 at the historic New Orleans facility, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. It circulates today as a tangible artifact of the country's pre-1933 monetary system, preserved in Fine condition. The coin features the artistic work of Charles Barber. On the obverse, a profile of Lady Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, surrounded by the national inscription. The reverse side presents a simple, elegant wreath that frames the denomination of ONE DIME at its center.
